Dorthe Foged is the founder and driving force behind Nordic Culture Forum.
With more than three decades of experience, she has amassed an extensive track record in organising international conferences, summits, cultural projects and cross-border partnerships.
International conferences and cultural productions
Over the years, she has delivered a wide range of international conferences and summits to ministries, councils of ministers and major institutional organisations, including tasks under the auspices of the EU Presidency and COP15. She has also produced large-scale concerts, exhibitions and artistic productions across Denmark and internationally, working with symphony orchestras and acclaimed international soloists.
The Danish Cultural Institute in the United Kingdom
She previously served as Director of the Danish Cultural Institute in the United Kingdom, where she led the promotion of Danish art, culture and societal affairs across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Children Need Arts Foundation
Dorthe Foged is also the founder and director of Children Need Arts Foundation, which over the past 16 years has provided more than 430,000 children and young people with access to artistic and cultural programmes at schools and cultural institutions throughout Denmark.
In addition, she develops social initiatives for vulnerable families by partnering with organisations such as the Danish Red Cross, Save the Children Denmark and Mødrehjælpen (Aid to Danish Mothers and Families). She focuses her efforts on art, culture and community for families who are otherwise denied access to the country's leading cultural institutions.
Under the auspices of the Children Need Arts Foundation, she has organised international summits on the value of art and culture for children, young people and society, drawing participants – including H.M. Queen Mary, ministers, keynote speakers and delegates – from the Nordic countries, Europe, the United States and South Africa.
